A new swimming pool in a California park could have a swimming hole and pool house
A new pool in the California park is the first of its kind in the U.S. and could have indoor and outdoor swimming holes, and could also have a pool house.
The water is being supplied by a hydroelectric system and the pool house is expected to open by the end of the summer.
The California Recreation and Fish Commission voted Monday to give approval for the $40 million, 14-hole pool, which would be about 100 feet long and 100 feet wide.
The facility, dubbed Oneill, would sit at a creek bed in the town of Lassen in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
The pool will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but it will be closed to swimming during the summer, according to the California Recreation Commission.
It is the largest indoor pool in California, and it’s the first in the state for the recreational industry to offer an indoor pool with swimming facilities, according the commission.
